No matter the outcome, it would be on their terms.

There is this persistent #myth mermaids shed no tears.
Show no remorse for sailors drowned.
That isn't true.
No one has ever seen us cry, because the ocean takes our tears away as soon as they start to fall.
We are forever alone in our grief as we weep for all those lost at sea.
