THREAD: To mark the start of 2025, I've ranked the top 25 Oranje players since the turn of the century.
I only took into account what players have done in international football and obviously prioritised what they did at major tournaments, hence some choices that are maybe surprising...

Peter Bosz was vague on if he'll renew his PSV contract at the end of the season in an interview today, saying he's still deciding what he wants to do with the last years of his career. It sounds a lot like he's waiting to see if his dream job as Oranje coach becomes available...

Since the Euros, we've won just seven of our 15 matches, dropping points against Hungary, Bosnia and Poland (x2) and failing to win any of our four matches against top nations.
Gives very little reason to be optimistic about the World Cup.

Koeman's setup is the main issue, but our players were also so bad individually for that goal.
Gravenberch was the biggest culprit, completely giving up on tracking his man, and after that, Geertruida should've picked the player up and Van Dijk should've moved across sooner.

Genuinely amazed that Koeman has been our manager for three years and has made absolutely zero progress making us less vulnerable to counter-attacks. It really should not be hard with the defenders and holding midfielders we have.

Poland lead and it's fully deserved. We've been so so open to counter-attacks all match, as we always are under Koeman, and now we've conceded one. Terrible.

There are a few injury issues ahead of the match tomorrow. Weghorst and Hartman have already pulled out of the squad and Dumfries is a doubt.
Hopefully Dumfries missing out wouldn't mean Timber moving to RB, want him and VVD to develop their CB partnership.

Personally don't think he has to prove anything else to be offered the Oranje job when Koeman goes.

I've said it before, but Bosz's work at PSV is SO underappreciated. On top of two league titles, he's got key results against tons of Europe's biggest clubs. They were so far away from those kinds of results before he joined.
