do the work not because you have to but because that's a life well-lived.

live the fuck outta your life.

the people we buried would be fucking pissed off if you don't.

make art. kill nazis. don't get discouraged. enjoy the sunrise. work hard on this and rest. enjoy being alive. go down swinging.

A Molinillo—Mexican hot chocolate whisk. It was cool but just not very useful.

I also had some copper Moscow mule cups that were used…once.

I'm less into the reconstruction of The Fortress of Buhen. Relatively little architectural detail and no sense of how the building was used. Slightly crowded and clumsy for Sorrell:

There's a couple of archaeological reconstructions by Alan Sorrell in the Abbott & Holder sale if you are feeling richer than me. Love the detail of the houses in this visualisation of Hazor:

This Friday we have an important appointment to debate the imminent future of the EAA. If you are a 2025 or 2026, attend and vote afterwards to remind leadership this is a membership-based association, and certain actions cannot be tolerated.

The quickest way to kill any interesting conversation is to threaten to study/share it. It’s such an interesting liminal space with a lot of trust involved.

Logout, clear your cookies, turn the vpn on, then login. It’s a lot of faff and @sarahmay1.bsky.social is right, I wish they’d just turn them off.

You can also use a VPN and change your location to see your DMs. I know it's beside the point but some knowledge of and engagement with VPNs is generally a good thing amidst all of this *waves hands*

Choose your own adventure though, obvs.

Really excited that our *new paper* is finally out 🔥 This study is the first to quantitatively investigate museum visitors’ perceptions of historical analogies that compare concepts from the deep past to modern political ideas.

The Free Speech Union commissioned a "security" report on us, so we tested their security. Turns out - it sucks.

We've now published the names of everyone who has donated to a FSU fundraiser, along with how much they gave and to which campaign.

This entire thread but THIS THIS THISSSSSS especially
the way you collect data determines what kinda data you collect. Who knew? (Many people). So a survey of our archive is a survey of the data we can reach — it’s most often the history of people who were wealthy and connected enough to be remembered, and it’s pretty white and anglophone

Hellloooo wow how do people find time for social media these days. And welcome to my TAG talk! Which was in fact about just that “the existential panic of keeping a social media based project like @trowelblazers.bsky.social alive when we can barely keep our heads above water: a DEI Story”
