A micro story

Columbo arrived. “Where’s the body?” “Here, sir,” said the officer. Columbo looked. “See that hair?” He entered the bathroom. “It’s clean” the sergeant said. Columbo picked a false eyelash off the floor & puzzled. ‘One more thing’ he said ‘is there any coffee?’

A micro-story

Colin woke, head pounding. Bruised knuckles, cut fingers, then—blood. So much blood in the bed. He stumbled to the kitchen, made coffee. What happened last night? Where was the girl? Heart racing, he went to the bathroom.

China has history too. The unequal treaties of the 19th century are burned into the national psyche, when China was repeatedly humiliated by western powers, Russia & Japan. That is not happening again. Guess which picture is from the US & which from China.

It’s all about cards, I think. Zelensky has no cards. Greenland has no cards. If you don’t have cards you’d better get some. Aces are best.
