I watched this paper wasp nest grow all summer in one of our empty bee hives. Today I thought I would get to collect an empty nest, but the last workers are still hanging on, too cold to move.

I found this gem while digging through old issues of the American Bee Journal for a Remembrance Day post. I think it’s every bit as relevant today as it was in 1942.
