I lost faith when I was told I couldn't put any restrictions on students' use of AI, couldn't do anything about obvious plagiarism, and couldn't take points off for late assignments.

Bro, if I can't even punish OFFICERS for lying, cheating, stealing, or being late, wtf do you pay me for?
This is all great stuff. The MAGA junk is just fake intellectualism all the way down, and it's fueled by my own personal issue with PME - that you can't fail the actual irredeemable pieces of shit or complete morons because they'll blow the whole system apart.

Every single solitary line he delivered in this performance was a f'ing delight, worth rewinding.

I picked up Daybreak on sale and got my first 2-player game played yesterday. Excellent marriage of theme and mechanisms, and a very useful teaching tool. The simple tableau building with the project cards is a great puzzle, really addicting to try to improve your board while helping allies.

It's incredibly frustrating how normie brains are now infected by petty too-online white grievances now.

Almost a schizophrenic mix of real-world (the economy ain't great for me, this ICE stuff is wrong, the president is insane) with "white men will never have a place in the halftime show again."

MAGA views the ideal US-led alliance system like the racially segregated forces from Mass Effect: expendable, physically strong vanguard forces; an effete race for fires; a tech-based race for hacking/intel; and square-jawed, faith-based mortals for leadership and vision.

The United States is not weaker when we acknowledge moral failures at home or abroad. Nor are we hamstrung by a single ally who is rendered weak by some sense of national shame. This is all just straight bigoted horseshit. Literally finger-wagging from a position of increasing irrelevance.
So like, this is extremely close to explicitly saying Germans shouldn’t be ashamed of the Third Reich, right?

I originally picked up Mandate of Peace for my collection of international relations-themed cards, started playing it bc it seemed kinda good and had a serious moment hearing @saffronolive.bsky.social pitch this on MtG Goldfish Shark Tank!

Tom Wilson is an irredeemable piece of shit, total stain on the sport of hockey. Gets his ass dumped by a C-leaguer and has to jump up and try to restart the fight by grabbing a guy already tied up by the refs.

Trash player all around boosted by a trash organization.

I went and saw Stereophonic at the National Theater yesterday, and although it's always great to go see a live show (I am firmly a Niles Crane theater-goer who loves to critique a play for house afterward), I thought the play itself was pretty underwhelming. I don't get the hype.

Laughed hard at this one. So many first time experiences:

Hour 1: Vegas does not meet my expectations. Meh

Hour 2: Vegas has smashed my wildest expectations.

Hour 6: Expectations are an afront to what God wishes for us.

First time to the WWI Memorial. There are many war memorials and this is indeed one.

Still don't get any you take an entire corner plaza for a memorial and make it a giant concrete area with almost no shaded seated areas.

I assume Petraeus is like some of my DoD coworkers who believe that the admin and their new guiding documents cannot be fueled by or in pursuit of bigotry because the Secretary of State is Hispanic.
A lot of people are watching this admin and commenting, "this is incomprehensible!"

And half of them mean, "this is incomprehensible, in that I am literally unwilling to comprehend that we have reached this point and the government is full of bigots pursuing ruinous policies fueled by bigotry."

Once again apologies to every future uniform designer, but we've reached the pinnacle of design with the USA Hockey jerseys this year.

It was Nike. Nike figured it out.
So fresh and so clean 😮‍💨

Team USA records its FOURTH consecutive shutout to advance to the semis, with 12 points coming off the sticks of PWHL players!

"We're keeping that close. It's CUI. We're not even sharing it with State!"

"Ah! Oh, so no Sir. Nah, yeah we should probably not be doing that Sir. Yeah, yeah, Congress too. Well they wrote the law, they already know about the program."

Only thing I will agree with Fetterman on (though his insistence that this is some sort of "left media" thing is pandering horseshit).
Fetterman: "I met with Secretary Noem. I've always treated her with respect. I refuse and never will engage in the kinds of sexist terms like 'ICE Barbie' that the left media will use."

You laugh but allowing DHS to freelance with directed energy weapons and shoot a party balloon down, potentially endangering the airspace of a major airport while Biden officials carefully monitored a wayward spy balloon's journey across the homeland is why the GOP is +15 on "national security."

15 years working around the DoD tomorrow. All I wanted for the last year is to reach 10 Feb. I made it but just don't have that dog in me anymore. There is still good work to be done, and very good people to carry on the work.

I'm watching Canada-Switzerland women's hockey bc I just want to feel the feelings that come from watching a game with double-digit scoring.

I was yesterday years old when I learned that Georgetown Prep has the Monday after the Super Bowl off because so many parents take their kids to the game.
