In my personal opinion, #CulturalAppropriation in #K-pop is still happening sometimes but with a low frequency if we compare it to the past. With K-pop’s growing popularity, artists and agencies have become more careful about the concept they pursue and how they choose to portray their vision.

Today’s topic is #ArirangSingers (아리랑 싱어즈). They were a South Korean band that were formed in 1962 and started being popular internationally after they released their debut album #DisCorea in 1979. #ChoiSeunghee was the first famale dancer in colonial Korea to perform outside of her country. She was part of the Japanese propaganda so her stage name was Sai Shoki. She started to perform in America using a Western style but at the beginning she didn’t have a great response.
