Great news! Cllr Alasdair Tollemache has worked really hard for the community for many years and has supported community projects that really makes a difference locally.
Delighted my friend Cllr Alasdair Tollemache has been nominated as Stirling Council’s first Green Provost! 😀

He’s made a huge contribution to the Stirling area for years, he’ll work hard to unify our communities and champion the vulnerable💚
Stirling Council expected to back Scottish Green as party's first Lord Provost
Alasdair Tollemache would take up the ceremonial role in a bid to unseat the ruling Labour-Conservative coalition.

Another policy motion passed by @scottishgreens.org members supporting fairer energy transition that benefits communities via diversification of #communityenergy (solar, wind & hydro) and better enabling people to secure finance for new community-owned #renewableenergy projects. ☀️🌬️💦

Members voted to pass a policy motion at @scottishgreens.org that would help to cut #energybills by de-linking prices of electricity from gas, since the current price linking artificially inflates renewable energy prices. Lower bills & help to incentivise #renewable transition 👍🏻

@scottishgreens.org pass a motion to revise #drugs policy to work towards legal regulation. Taking public health approach to addiction recognises the many causative factors like poverty, illness & psychological trauma, with latest evidence showing prohibition ineffective & deepens such problems.

A thing I particularly love about @scottishgreens.org is how members drive policies democratically - today members in conference room & online debated & voted on motions ranging from Palestine to private ferry ports failing to serve Scottish communities. #democracy #hope
