I'm a blue girl in a red state. I just want peace, happiness, safety, healthcare, acceptance and love for all. I don't think that's too much to hope for! I love cats, theatre, and my husband, kids and grandkids! I swear WAY too much!
Good news!! My husband's heart tests came back showing no problems!! The episode that happened during his surgery was most likely a reaction to anesthesia. Thank you to everyone who sent good thoughts our way. I so appreciate it!

I'm up early this morning to take my husband in for a pharmacological stress test (he can't run on a treadmill due to his retina surgery). I appreciate everyone's good thoughts. They mean so much. Let's all have a nice, positive day!

We've had the heat on for the past few weeks and I feel just like SpongeBob out of water! I need a humidifier. Anyone else?

My husband had his echocardiogram today. Afterwards, we went out for a nice lunch and enjoyed some coffee and peanut butter glazed Duck Donuts (a huge weakness of mine). His eye is healing so nicely from the surgery. Tomorrow is a check-up for that. I love having the opportunity to take care of him.

Update on my husband. His eye is healing well, so far. Had an EKG done today and it's showing some problems, still. He'll have an echocardiogram done on Thursday and a stress test next Wednesday. I'm so worried about him. He has the kindest heart, how could anything be wrong with it?

I am unable to donate to food banks, or campaign funds, because all of our extra money is being used to subsidize our youngest daughter's healthcare plan. I do feel badly about it, but she has a chronic illness and can't risk not having healthcare. I hate the state of our country right now.

Now that it should be fully evident to the right that Trump is 100% to blame for SNAP benefits not being released, the Democrats need to double down on the shutdown and get this healthcare taken care of. My daughter, who relies on the ACA, is actually scared to look at the price list right now.

My husband's emergency retina surgery went well today and we're home. Unfortunately, during the surgery his ECG showed a period of S T depression in the lateral side of his heart. It took about 10 minutes for it to return to normal. He'll have a stress test on Monday. It could be a blockage. (1/2)

What a hopeful day!! I love the blue wave that rolled in last night! I'm up especially early this morning to take my husband in for surgery. They discovered a tear in his right retina yesterday during a routine eye exam, so we had an unexpected day of specialists and pre-surgical labs.

I saw something amazing yesterday while returning from SC on I-95. A huge billboard, near Petersburg, VA, that was decorated with American flags and tinsel, and said “God Bless President Trump,” was spray painted and torn up. The flags and tinsel were gone. It’s been there for 4 years!

Anyone else wonder what's been done with the art work and artifacts of the East Wing? Where has Dump squirreled them away to? Who has he sold them to? He considers everything in The People's House his.

I'm a big fan of medical reality shows on BBC; Casualty, 24 hours in A&E, Ambulance, etc. I love watching the kind, caring nature of the medical and support staff. It's incredibly comforting to me.
Last night, I began watching Call the Midwife and ended up watching the first 4 episodes. It's so good

I need some things to do to keep my mind off of life right now. I've exercised for an hour, have dinner in the oven and have stayed busy all day. Nothing is helping; anxiety is such a relentless biotch.
Any suggestions would be so appreciated.

Any person who found Trump's diarrhea airplane video funny is a complete and total moron. (And, no, I can't believe I just wrote "diarrhea airplane video" in reference to a US president).

I'm really surprised that FOX 5 in DC is doing full coverage of the rally in DC, and other than some sound issues they're doing a decent job of showing the crowds and speakers.

A poem for Caturday:
This kitty loves scratches and good things to eat.
This kitty loves sparkle balls and handfuls of treats!
This kitty loves cat-nip and all sorts of things.
But the one thing this kitty hates? It's Trump as our king!

Be safe out there today, everyone!!💙

I'm going to see Little Shop of Horrors tonight at my community's theatre. Haven't seen this one in years and am looking forward to seeing it with my family.

Trump is getting global accolades for returning the hostages (and I’m happy for their families ) but the US is on the Human Rights Watch list, soldiers are in our city streets, prices are rising and basic healthcare is about to become out of reach for so many Americans. Oh the Epstein List, too!

We're off to spend the next few days spoiling the heck out of our two grandkids while my daughter and son-in-law go to a medical conference. It will be a weekend of saying "yes" to whatever they want for meals (usually my meatballs), playing endless boardgames, and a trip to Dave and Busters! Yay!

There's a lizard on the front porch table. It's so close they can almost taste it.

I'm taking a break from the world and enjoying an outdoor festival with my family this Saturday. I hope everyone finds a generous measure of peace and happiness today.
