I have spent the last two years documenting the critically endangered red wolves that only live in the wild in Eastern NC. This is the breeding male Finch, AKA 2191, brought to the Alligator River Wildlife Refuge to mate with the oldest breeding female, who lost her mate to a vehicle strike.

Hello Bluesky. First post. I am incredibly fortunate to live in the area that has the only critically endangered red wolves in the wild on the planet, and there are very few of them in the wild. I was thrilled and amused to see this one lounging on its back yesterday, although extremely far away.
