I'm just starting on a tablet weave, it has to be very nice for a fellow reenactor.
Here's my learning piece. Different tensions, switched the colour of the weft to see what happens, and tried out a mod' to the card turn pattern.
The result, is supposed to be a messy: Oh, That's what that does!

I'm just starting on a tablet weave, it has to be very nice for a fellow reenactor.
Here's my learning piece. Different tensions, switched the colour of the weft to see what happens, and tried out a mod' to the card turn pattern.
The result, is supposed to be a messy: Oh, That's what that does!

Before the nect weaving project, to make a mate to this one, I'm going on a journey of learning about 4 shed looms.
Now that I've done so much by hand, I have a much better understanding of what needs to happen with the threads, drilled into my head.

The kitty is being helpful!
Today's project, (and many days previous and future,) is weaving on a stationary loom. (A very non traditional two by four, with small nails holding the warp threads!).
The pattern: broken herringbone.
