This Thanksgiving, let’s ask: are we feeding families—or factory farms?

Nearly 70% of U.S. grain goes to animals in industrial systems, not "people."

This Thanksgiving, Let’s Feed Families, Not Factory Farms | Common Dreams
Nearly 70% of the grain grown in this country—corn, soy, wheat, and barley—never feeds a single human being. Instead, it’s fed to pigs, chickens, and cows packed into industrial animal factories.

You check every label—but the real danger isn’t listed. 😡
Drugs like ractopamine + carbadox are banned abroad but still used here.

Now, Big Ag’s “Save Our Bacon” Act would block state food safety laws.

You can read every label and still miss the danger.

Drugs like ractopamine aren't listed—and Big Ag wants it illegal for states to warn us.

Local food safety laws matter. Don’t let them take that power away. -> https://bit.ly/3Lp6dpK

Animal welfare progress isn’t stalling—it’s accelerating.

- Nearly 50% of eggs are cage-free
- 40%+ of pork from crate-free systems
- Nearly 1B chickens set to benefit from reforms

Jack Hubbard’s recent column, “Activists Struggling With Corporate Campaigns,” offers a biased spin that overlooks the real story. The truth is that farm animal welfare reforms are gaining unstoppable...

REMINDER: Gestation crates are tiny metal cages where pregnant pigs are trapped, unable to turn, lie down comfortably, or even nest. They spend most of their lives confined like this, stripped of dignity and natural behavior. This is cruelty, plain and simple. #EndGestationCrates #AnimalWelfare

Again, claims that #Prop12 “dramatically” disrupts interstate commerce are overstated. The law simply sets humane standards for products sold in CA, just like other states regulate safety and labeling.

Bills like EATS threaten to override democratically elected policies like Prop 12, stripping states of their power to set animal welfare standards that reflect voters’ values. Democracy means respecting local voices over corporate interests, people over profit. #Prop12 #AnimalWelfare #Democracy
