Captain Wolfwood just uploaded a new log. It's about a confession. About an answer. About the droning noise of the universe, finally falling silent.

Mission Log 14 by N. Wolfwood; status: Requited. He told me. Blurted it out like a man handing over evidence in his own trial, like just saying the words was a sin he had to drag into the light. I hated that. Hated the way he looked at me like he was bracing for judgement, like he thought l'd laugh in his face or walk away. I'm no good at this shit. Feelings. Talking about them. Whatever. I've spent years keeping the walls high, because once you let people through, you just give them a chance to rip the whole place down. But him? Bastard's been slipping through like the walls didn't exist to begin with. A smile here, gesture there, little pieces of kindness worming in until suddenly I was already carrying him in my chest without realizing it. Of course I like him back. More than I've wanted to admit to him, and definitely more than I wanted to admit to myself. But, fuck, the way he looked... I wasn't about to let him think that it was some shameful secret, or that he was out here alone in it. I told him straight: yeah, I feel the same. I might as well have just handed him a pardon, like someone finally told him he could have a damn break. Doesn't mean it's simple. We've still got half the universe after us; his bounty on one side, my debts on the other. That's not the kind of weight you just shrug off. And I'd be lying if I said I wasn't worried about what it'll cost him, tying himself to me of all people. But when Vash smiled after, softer than I've ever seen and real, it was like--for a second--the universe shut the hell up. No hunters, no debts, no running. Just us. And maybe that's enough reason to keep going. He told me. And I told him back.

Mission Log 13 by V. Saverem; status: Unrequited. I've been thinking too much again. About him. I'm not blind to it. We fight. Constantly. He smokes too much, argues too much, and pulls the trigger before I can even open my mouth. And still, through every stop we've made, every scrape we've barely stumbled out of, he's never once told me to go. And I've never wanted to. Not like before. If anything, l've only made his life harder by being around. Trouble follows me like a shadow--some of my own doing, some not, all mine regardless--and he keeps walking beside me anyway. I like him. Too much, maybe. More than makes sense. I don't even know when it started. Maybe it was that first time he tossed me a grin through the smoke, like we'd already been friends forever. Or maybe it was every time after, when he didn't give up on me. I don't deserve someone like Wolfwood and he deserves someone who doesn't leave disaster in their wake. The other night, he was the one patching me up. He scolded me the whole time--too reckless, too soft, too damn careless--and I just sat there, letting him. His hands were rough, sharper than his words, but even when he tugged the bandages tight, I could feel the care underneath. I know he worries. I know that's what his anger really is. But it's not the same. Not the way I worry about him. Not the way I can't stop thinking about what would happen if he didn't come back one day. I want him safe, I want him happy, I want him free. I want to tell him. I'm terrified, but I want to. Because if tomorrow comes and one of us doesn't make it, what good are unspoken words? He should know. Even if I don't deserve to say them.
