I am proud that many of my priorities were included in the FY26 NDAA, just signed into law. I will always fight for our servicemembers’ quality of life and to ensure our nation's security needs are being met.

Earlier this year in June, I was denied entry to conduct congressional oversight at the Adelanto ICE facility. Now, a federal court issued an order reaffirming what was already the law – that Congress has a right to oversight in these detention facilities to protect transparency & accountability.

Today, House Republicans betrayed the insitution of Congress in favor of policial points from the President. The power to declare war lies in the hands of Congress, not the President. Republicans failed to act with courage and protect necessary safeguards for military escalation.
