For the last of my little series of autumn drabbles, some moonlight and some memories. (I moved up the 1743 full moon by a day for this to be accurate 🤫) 💜🌕✨
Harvest Fraser’s Ridge, 1768 They were huddled close together, a blanket and Jamie’s body heat cloaking Claire with the warmth she needed; the crisp autumn air giving way to frigid cold as the sunset below the horizon. “Remind me again why you were so adamant that we had to stargaze tonight?” Claire asked as she rested her head on his shoulder. Jamie hummed, as if lost in a happy memory. “Twas the same moon the night we first met twenty five years ago, Sassenach. The first full moon after the harvest moon, shining bright and clear sae I could fall in love with you.”

"Oh," Claire says, slicing bread. "I made raspberry jam yesterday, too." Jamie comments, grinning, "Sassenach, ye'd never baked in yer life before ye came here, and ye stitch wounds better than seams, but somehow you've always kent how to make raspberry jam." "I can’t even remember learning, but I suppose—" Leaning across the table, she kisses him, “—I was preparing for a man who loves raspberry jam, even without knowing it."

Unfortunately, adult life things got in the way and I won't be able to make it in December to watch Sammy in Macbeth (I'm in pain. nobody talk to me 😭😭😭 , but such is life, I'll live vicariously through those going and pray for more theatre from him and a raise for me).
