Norway going to a World Cup for the first time since 1998. Got a soft spot for 🇳🇴 having covered their qualifiers for a number of years. Most of those campaigns have been so underwhelming. They’ve been devastatingly good this year. Excited to see what they’ll bring next summer.

Strange to watch a game that finishes 3-2 & think ‘that wasn’t a great match’. But credit to West Ham, back to back Premier League wins under Nuno. That’s only the second time that’s happened since David Moyes left. Sometimes you just have to find a way to win #bbcfootball #whufc

West Ham vs Burnley. 18th vs 17th.

More than a bit of tension in the East London air. #bbcfootball

Tremendous opportunity for Alex Scott. Imagine Thomas Tuchel is quite sweet on Scott’s versatility as a midfielder. Looks at home in both deeper & more advanced roles. Said it before, but he and Tyler Adams are one of the most underrated midfield partnerships in the league. #afcb

Just spoken to Vitor Pereira for @BBCMOTD. Called Wolves’ performance the ‘worst yet’ under him.

“Tactically, technically, physically, we weren’t good enough. I don’t know why. We all need to take responsibility for this.”

Interviewed Sean Dyche for @BBCMOTD. He’s (understandably) annoyed about the decision to give Bournemouth a corner which led to the opening goal. But was very clear in saying that Forest were ‘miles off it’ in the 1st half. Says there’s a shortage of confidence in the camp. #NFFC

Spoke to Andoni Iraola for @BBCMOTD about the chances of him signing a new deal with Bournemouth. Owner Bill Foley flew to England this weekend to speak to him about it.

Iraola: “We are always talking. I think he should come over more often as I enjoy his company.” #afcb

Sheffield Wednesday file for administration. We keep saying ‘this won’t happen again’, and then it happens again. Huge respect to the #swfc fans who have kept the club’s plight in the spotlight for months and months.

Chelsea’s kids were good, but there’s one ‘kid’ who was very good.

Ajax couldn’t get near Estêvão. He’s a ridiculous talent. Creative, but with endeavour. Easily could have slipped into a ‘showboating’ situation, but he just kept doing the right things well. Huge talent. #CFC

Big air punch from Frank Lampard at the final whistle. Coventry better team for large portions, and yet found themselves a little rattled by Portsmouth right at the end. First time Coventry have conceded a goal in more than 10 hours. They do look the part. #pompey #pusb

Coventry look every inch a Championship table topper. Well organised, rapid in transition, and causing Portsmouth real problems from set-pieces. Having said that, #Pompey had strong claims for a penalty. That’s what caused the lengthy Mousinho / Lampard argument.

Fratton Park will be reminiscing tonight about the great days under Milan Mandarić.

Impressed (again) with Tyler Adams at the weekend. Few thoughts for @BBCSport on how the Bournemouth midfielder’s brilliance is flying below the radar right now. #afcb #bbcfootball

Crystal Palace and Bournemouth are just so bloody good to watch. The game got better and better because you had two teams going at each other with the conviction of their style and principles.

An absolute pleasure to commentate on it for @5liveSport. #cpfc #afcb #bbcfootball

Watched Alexander Isak for Sweden tonight. A long, long way short of what he’s capable of. Played 90 minutes, but actually surprised he was kept on. It’ll be the play-offs at best for Sweden. They’ve made a real mess of these qualifiers.

One of my favourite Milan Mandarić stories was when he sent the then Southampton chairman Rupert Lowe a dead duck for Christmas. He wasn’t happy that Lowe kept ignoring his calls when Mandarić was trying to get Harry Redknapp back to #Pompey.

It’s a one-way London derby. Arsenal seem unaffected by Martin Odegaard’s injury. West Ham have been dancing with danger for large portions of the half. They’ve defended well, but are losing the midfield battle and can’t get anything to stick upfront. #bbcfootball #ARSWHU

There’s something very special about this Bournemouth team. Feasted on the brilliance (again) of Semenyo tonight to spin the game. The unity in the team is so clear to see, but the in-game tweaks from Andoni Iraola invariably pay off. An exceptional coach. #afcb

A goalless half between Bournemouth and Fulham. Woeful weather detrimental to both at Vitality Stadium.
