🚨Huge news for Whitehawk 🚨

I’m proud to announce that Whitehawk has secured £20 million in new funding through the Labour Government’s Plan for Neighbourhoods.

Now the big question: how should we spend it?

How should we spend our £20 million Plan for Neighbourhoods fund to improve Whitehawk? - Chris Ward | MP for Brighton Kemptown and Peacehaven
Ever since I was elected, I’ve been fighting for Whitehawk to get the investment it deserves. For far too long, our community has been overlooked. So, I’m delighted that the Government has listened, a...

Proud to welcome launch of £75m LGBT+ Veterans Financial Recognition Scheme 🏳️‍🌈

I’ve worked with @fightingwithpride.bsky.social
& LGBT+ veterans to help make this happen — a vital step toward justice for those banned from serving simply for who they were.

Today I joined remembrance services in Rottingdean and Peacehaven to honour all those who gave their lives in service to our country.

It’s always deeply moving to see our communities come together to remember the courage and sacrifice of our Armed Forces, past and present.

We will remember them. 🌹

Here's to a great weekend 🍻

Hopefully with a win for @officialbha.bsky.social against Palace ⚽️

Great to meet Cllr Mark Earthey and local water-quality champions from FORCE & BH Seacheck at Saltdean Lido 🌊

Their community testing is vital to protect swimmers & wildlife — and I’m calling on Southern Water to extend funding so this work can continue.

🌊 Strong win for our coast! I’m delighted that the dredging licence for Brighton Marina has been quashed. I stood with residents and campaigners all the way.

Thanks to community and Sussex Wildlife Trust for campaigning on it.

Rottingdean Library matters — and local people have made that clear.

Almost 3,000 residents took part in the citywide consultation on Brighton & Hove’s libraries.

It’s a vital part of village life — and I’ll keep working with the Council, the Parish Council and campaigners to find a solution.

One of my main roles in the Cabinet Office is making sure procurement works for British businesses.

So It was great to meet with a range of small and medium businesses to discuss how we can use public procurement to boost jobs, growth and support small businesses across the country.

We will remember them.

Ahead of Remembrance Day this weekend, it was an honour to plant a poppy in Parliament's Constituency Garden of Remembrance on behalf of residents.

Lest we forget.

In Parliament tonight voting to protect the Employment Rights Bill — and to stop Tory & Lib Dem attempts to weaken it.

The Bill delivers the biggest upgrade to workers’ rights in a generation: ending zero-hours contracts, banning fire & rehire, ensuring fair pay & job security

🍻 Have your say on the future of our pubs, cafés and restaurants!

The Government’s “Cheers to Change” consultation on modernising hospitality licensing laws closes at midday on Wednesday 6 November.

A privilege to meet with @ujs-uk.bsky.social and Jewish student leaders last week to discuss the rise in antisemitism on campus.

No student should ever feel unsafe because of who they are. We must all stand firm against hate — wherever it appears.

Our Armed Forces give everything for us — they deserve safe, decent homes in return. 🇬🇧

With Labour, 14,000 military homes across the South East are being upgraded.

Real respect. Real change.

@officialbha.bsky.social v Leeds today. Predictions?

I'm going 2-0 Albion. I've spoken to the players and they've agreed to ignore all my advice. Probably for the best.

Hope you have a great weekend.

✨️Great public meeting at St Cuthman’s today✨️

Lots of ideas for how we can spend the £20million investment we've secured for Whitehawk.

Thank you to everyone who came. More meeting coming.

And you can submit ideas via my website, link in the comments👇

Thank you to the Pankhurst Pantry — a volunteer-run project helping everyone in the community access affordable food with dignity. 💚

Open Fridays 11am–1pm at the Edge Community Room. Donations welcome if you can, but no one is turned away.

Huge thanks to the amazing volunteers👏

🚌 What's your experience of our bus services?

Have you tried the new 3X or the 94B? How about the recent changes to city centre bus stops?

I want to hear from you: what’s working, what’s not — and how we can make buses across the constituency better, fairer and more reliable.

I’m concerned by the move from Southern Water to close St George’s Road, Kemp Town, for up to four weeks to carry out “essential works.” Local businesses are rightly furious.

I’ve asked the Council and Southern Water to urgently review this.

After the attack on Peacehaven Mosque, I called for government funding for repairs and security.

On Thursday, I was proud to stand with the Prime Minister and Home Secretary to deliver on that promise — part of £10 million funding for mosques around the country.

Great coverage of the PM’s visit to Peacehaven in today’s @brightonargus.bsky.social

(plus coverage of the @officialbhafc.bsky.social game against United tomorrow - what’s not to like?)

I promised Peacehaven’s voice would be heard after the sickening arson attacking.

Today, I was delighted to be joined by the Prime Minister and Home Secretary to hear from those affected and to announce additional funding to help repair the mosque and improve security.

Disappointed by Morrisons’ update today, but this isn’t over.

Peacehaven deserves a supermarket and a town centre — and I’ll keep working with Morrisons, the Council and local businesses to make it happen. The community’s been patient for too long. 💪 #Peacehaven #CommunityFirst

👑Danny Welbeck appreciation post👑

Brilliant atmosphere at the Amex yesterday as Albion beat Newcastle 2–1⚽️

Welbeck only gets better with age.

Hope you're having a great weekend

📮 Royal Mail fined — but local delivery problems continue

I’ve been speaking out about the poor postal service across parts of my constituency — especially in Saltdean and Rottingdean, where missed deliveries are the the norm.
