Here it is, my latest in CHE--"How to Approach a Book Editor" (me!). Lots of (gulp) outright advice in here but my hope is that it's prescriptive in a good way--i.e. doesn't just reinforce bad norms but hopefully helps establish better ones (esp re "connections"). www.chronicle.com/article/how-...
