There are days at work where it's difficult to not start cackling like Witch Hazel from a Bug Bunny cartoon. Today was definitely one of those days.

As of this morning, Starbucks workers across the country are officially ON STRIKE. And we're prepared for this to become the biggest and longest ULP strike in Starbucks history.

Say #NoContractNoCoffee with us: DON'T BUY STARBUCKS for the duration of our open-ended ULP strike! $SBUX

Annual screening mammogram done last Saturday. This afternoon, I got a call. There's a focal asymmetry on one side and they want me to come back for diagnostic imaging, now scheduled second week of December. My coworker in breast oncology wanted to try and get that moved up. I declined. 1/3

Five years ago today my mom passed. I have my moments where I am frustrated with myself that I'm still sad, not "over it" yet. Grief may take its own time, but sometimes you just want to have your old "normal" back. Even if you know that's not possible, your normal is and will always be different.

I'd like to trade my head in for one that works.

I was bad about finishing anything I started for a long time when writing. My actually finishing a thing was all artwork. First short story I finished was a weird little vampire story in my early 20s. Still don't have the writing stamina to do anything longer than a novelette and actually finish.
I was thinking about early writing recently and I'm curious—short fiction writers: what is the earliest short story you remember finishing that wasn't for a school project or anything?

Black and white mood.

The big storm that wasn't. That's as close as we got.

Black and white mood.

The hallway in this hotel gives horror movie vibes.

I was pretty pleased with this one, then accidentally deleted it instead of a different post. I should probably not be allowed to push delete buttons when tired.

Don't know what bug it is that I caught, but it makes me so weak that I keep almost falling over. Lost my appetite. Slight nausea. Keep having uncontrollable microsleeps if awake more than an hour, so definitely not driving anywhere. Somehow being sick while living in a hotel makes being sick worse.

I remember going out dancing all night, or hiking mountain trails, or single-handedly moving large fallen tree limbs for my crippled grandfather.

I went to bed last night fine and woke up this morning with a pulled muscle in my back. How did I even manage that?

Pro tip: Don't get old. lol

Moo has discovered the joys of a heating pad in a comfy, beat-up chair on a cold day with a winter weather advisory. It's a good thing the pad turns itself off after two hours, or he might never leave that chair again.

Home from the ED. The verdict pretty much boils down to "We have no idea why you have these symptoms, you freak of nature. Go home. Here's meds to handle the worst of the symptoms. Eat bland food."

At the ED. Experiencing symptoms that might be nothing, or the bug my husband had a few days ago, but taken together are also potentially symptoms of a heart attack in women. Not taking chances with it.

Moo says he is DONE with this toddler t-shirt bs. He won't even look at me right now. #cats #catsofbluesky #blackcats #seniorkitty #seniorcat

My cat is not amused by the continuous glucose monitor and t-shirt he's been outfitted with so we can get a glucose curve and see what his diabetes is up to. Even pointing out to Moo that he's now a Marvel superhero hasn't convinced him.

It's been crazy stressful and exhausting this week at work in my little corner of breast oncology. I'll try to be outraged next week about things. I'm too tired to be more than numb and a little depressed. Can't muster energy for more than that. I'm a very little cog, but my gear's ground down.

Not ready for it to be Monday. Can we have second Sunday instead, please?
