I spoke with Ottawa Charge forward Michela Cava about the impact the PWHL is having on women’s hockey worldwide.

I then caught up with forward Olivia Wallin about what the first half of this season has taught her about herself both as a player and as an individual.

Congratulations to friend of the show Tara Bach, goaltender with Mercyhurst University, who was named AHA’s Goaltender of the Week!

I had a couple of really great conversations with Michela Cava and Olivia Wallin following practice today.

I’ll be sharing some quotes later this afternoon, so stay tuned.

And a scrimmage to end today’s practice here at TD Place:

Interesting drill, as the coaching staff have the defenders leading the…charge (sorry, not sorry) into the offensive zone as the puck carriers.

They’re the ones driving the net, with the forwards stepping in as defenders in some cases.

For the first time, forward Reece Hunt, a reserve with the Charge who has been rehabbing a knee injury, is in a full contact jersey.

Hunt has been really impressive, despite not being at 100%: so fast, great stick work, good first step, high hockey IQ.

Back at the rink, as the Ottawa Charge take to the ice for practice.

Well, it may not have gone as they drew it up, but Canada advances to the gold medal game, beating Switzerland 2-1.

Marie-Philip Poulin, as she’s done so many times before, was the difference maker, scoring both of Canada’s goals.

SOG: 46-8 Canada

Switzerland gets on the board, as Rahel Enzler is left all alone in front and takes the great feed from Alina Müller.

It was Switzerland’s seventh shot on goal. 2-1 Canada in the third.
February 16, 2026 at 9:59 PM
Two periods down and Canada has a 2-0 lead over Switzerland in semifinal play.

Canada’s captain is the difference maker, and record setter, scoring twice in that frame.

SOG: 35-4

CAN: Renata Fast (16:16)
SUI: Alina Müller (15:42)

Poulin does it again for Canada, scoring her 20th goal of her Olympic career, and doubles the lead in the second period.

MPP is playing on one good knee and still puts this team on her back.

Daryl Watts and Ella Shelton with the assists. 2-0 Canada over Switzerland in the 2nd.
February 16, 2026 at 9:12 PM
Marie-Philip Poulin scored and sets the all-time Olympic record, breaking the tie with fellow Canadian Hayley Wickenheiser.

Sophie Jaques and Daryl Watts with the assist. 1-0 Canada over Switzerland in the second period.

No score after the first period between Canada and Switzerland in the day’s second semifinal matchup.

SOG: 13-1 Canada

Switzerland is doing a great job keeping Canada to the outside, limiting their shooting efficiency. Canada needs to have better support when gaining the zone.

Congratulations to friend of the show Grace Beer, goaltender with the Dalhousie University Tigers, who has now surpassed 2500 career saves.
