Jonathan's/Malt Lick Nursery's jazz related birthday notifications along with quotes and images has become one of my favorite morning (it's morning in my corner of the world, at least) updates on Blue Sky. Do give him a follow if such stuff tickles your fancy.
"I believe there are certain freedoms, beauties, and truths about music in the wild. There's a magic of merging musicians, audience, and music all together in a particular, specific, finite moment of time and space that can’t happen any other way."

Today it is 55 years since the recording of Alice Coltrane's album Journey in Satchidananda (except for the track "Isis and Osiris," which was recorded July 4, 1970).

Les min omtale i dagens Musikkmagasinet.
