Liverpool would’ve drawn Arsenal away if going through tonight, which would’ve meant a run of 4 away games at Arsenal, Spurs, Fulham & Arsenal either side of Christmas. Having lost 7 of our 8 London games in 2025 it was probably best avoided. Anyway, off to clutch more straws

Personally, I think Liverpool are missing Luis Diaz way more than anyone seems to mention, plus the link that Salah had with Trent Alexander-Arnold that was integral to the team for a long time.

Liverpool & Saints have both got difficult away games but neither looked remotely like scoring before half-time. Both have got history when it comes to dramatic late comeback wins, but seems an unlikely double tonight

Saints v Cas was a nothing game so it was as underwhelming as expected, but to finish a mediocre season at home by conceding 3 tries in 5 minutes epitomises the plummeting standards at Saints. 5th feels like an overachievement #SuperLeague

20 straight losses v Wigan, Hull KR, Leigh & Wire. 10 different half-back combinations. Averaging 8 points a game v the top 4. Lost 28-0 tonight when it was 13 v 13. Tactically & technically inept, this is the worst @Saints1890 team of the Super League era. Big changes are needed.

Saints keep coming up short in the big games as the attack and kicking isn’t good enough against the best sides, but defensively they can stay in games. Gives an outside chance in the play-offs, but they’ve got to improve rapidly or it’ll be another loss next week #SuperLeague

Community Shield v City. The 7-0 v United. Forest away. Newcastle away. Villa at Anfield. Brentford away. He gave us some great moments, gave his all & played his part in a league title win. Been a lot of fun having Darwin Nunez at Anfield #LFC

Saints were excellent tonight, arguably their best display of the season. Acid test will be the run of games v Hull KR, Wigan & Leigh, but definitely some encouraging signs #SuperLeague
