Great opinion piece by @zoedaniel.bsky.social in the Guardian. Our news journalists need to start challenging the lies & misinformation of the Coalition. #auspol www.theguardian.com/commentisfre...
The Coalition is spinning a line that climate action is economically bad. How are they getting away with it? | Zoe Daniel
In this post-truth environment, the interests of coal and gas are somehow able to win the hearts and minds of voters

None of what the coalition says makes sense. Focused on the economics? Coal, gas and even nuclear energy is more expensive than renewables. Reliability? Renewables are the most reliable form of energy at the moment. Underwrite more coal and gas? What a bunch of muppets! #Auspol #netzero

We aren’t doing enough to reduce emissions. Here’s a scorecard by Climate Analytics, a non-profit institute leading research on climate science & emissions reduction. Transport continues to climb & we have minimal policies to deal with it. climateactiontracker.org/about/who-we... #Auspol #netzero

If anything the Libs today have put @chrisbowenmp.bsky.social on notice by claiming that emissions reductions have flatlined. Is that true Chris? You are going to be hammered by that by the Libs until the next election #Auspol #netzero

Susan Ley just talked about the “Iberian power outage” and blamed it on renewables. Both the Spanish Government and the Energy Provider Redeia at the time stated in their reports that renewable energy sources were not responsible for it. #factcheck #LNP #Auspol

Interesting especially as it’s looking like the LNP is about to dump net zero. Simple first question to the LNP. Will emissions reduce under their new policy? The answer has to be no. #Auspol www.bbc.com/news/article...
UK emissions will rise under Tory plan, Coutinho says
The Tory shadow energy secretary argues net zero has become a "religion" that has increased electricity costs.

The LNP were hammered at the last election because they had no climate policy and were focused on nuclear which would take decades to build and is the most expensive form of energy today. Labor’s argument is simple around cost. Renewables are cheaper #Auspol

18 months ago Merrick and FA were about to unveil a 10-year technical plan that never saw the light of day. Maybe Ernie needs to reflect on that before the court case commences.

10 days in Norway just blew me away.
EVs aren’t the future, they are everywhere. 99% of new cars sold last year were electric. The formula? Polluters pay & EV drivers get rewarded. Turns out when you get the incentives right, change happens rapidly. #netzero #auspol

The higher energy prices can be blamed on energy retailers. The wholesale price is down 27% compared to last year thanks to renewables. #Auspol #Insiders www.theguardian.com/environment/...
Australian wholesale electricity prices are falling. So when will power bills stop rising?
The cost of generating power is definitely getting cheaper, but the savings may take time to flow through
