In case anyone wants it, SF pool schedule for North Beach, Hamilton, and Rossi (lap swim hours only). I'm swimming a lot more because of this being in gcal.

Taste is going to be the new coding. People who immerse themselves in the culture/tools/problems of their users are going to win. I tell my marketing/product friends that they’re in a solid place as long as they can keep their taste (or product intuition, or whatever you want to call it) relevant.
Replit’s CEO joins the growing chorus of tech CEOs from AI startups like Anthropic & OpenAI to big tech, arguing learning to code is obsolete as AI will take all the coding jobs in a few years.

This must be an extremely demoralizing message for people getting CS degrees or early in their careers.
‘Don’t study coding now,’ says Replit CEO, ‘instead learn how to…’
Repli CEO Amjad Masad said that since AI will take over coders in future, one should not waste time on studying coding now.

Studio Ghibli AI recreations are everywhere - I’ve seen a marriage proposal and baby’s birth being announced using Ghibli-stylized photos. This is DEFINITELY going to age the same way as the Snapchat dog filter of 2010s hahahaha

Google Docs having tabs has been so game changing for me! It's a big step in solving the "too many Google Docs links flying around" problem.

I had a dream that Lucasfilm announced a Star Wars show about a group of teenagers on an adventure and was severely disappointed. So pumped for Andor!!!

Yesterday I was a few hundred feet away from a food truck with a charcoal grill and it was still one of the best smells I've remembered in a long time. I had such a visceral urge to take a photo of the smell. But maybe it's nice that our sense of smell hasn't been commoditized yet.

For 1:1s I've recently started using the structure of "What I'm excited about" / "What keeps me up at night" and I've had such better conversations as a result. The "what keeps me up at night" section really communicates "I care about these outcomes right now".

Replit is frustrating at times but damn does it save time getting a project off the ground. Handing off to Cursor then accelerates it further.

We're on the verge of an explosion in bespoke software development for niche use cases. Just set up Secret Santa assignments for my friend group using the Replit AI agent. It created a web app that allowed me to add friends, then it generated assignments and emailed everyone with their assignment.

This is so misleading. Eliminating the first four steps implies subscription apps will soon be required to have a Cancel button on the default tab of the app.

I've noticed every time I ask chatGPT to produce code for me I'm afraid that it will say "No, I'm not doing that for you, figure it out on your own". Then when it actually gives me code I'm amazed.

Took part in the AI SF hackathon this past week, and made a medical sidekick chatbot! Upload medical files, and it will help you understand what's going on.

A bunch of us at Clubhouse got let go last week. It's a weird experience with lots of thoughts feelings, but I'll save those for later. In the meantime...going to a Blue Sky meetup in SF tonight! Alright, how was that for a first post?
