Just an old lady hunkering down in Toronto with my dog, hoping there are enough sensible, compassionate people left in the world to stop this surge of stupidity. Also, I'll probably follow anyone with food pics and recipes. :)

Hey Ontario! Enjoy the failing healthcare system, crumbling overcrowded schools,no affordable housing cuz that’s what the majority seem to want…enjoy your convenience store beer, the tunnel under Toronto & luxury spa that no one can afford. What a joke & waste of tax dollars this election was 😡

Good job Ontario. I hope none of you will be needing medical care in the forseeable future -especially the 55% of you that couldn't be bothered to vote

Albert Einstein said, “In the midst of every crisis, lies great opportunity.” As Canadians, we can wean ourselves off American energy, food, goods and services. We can electrify everything with heat pumps, trains, electric cars and e-bikes. We can put our wood to work.
Lessons from the past about how to deal with American tariffs
This would be a good time to buy Canadian, electrify everything, get off American gas and oil, and reduce our carbon emissions.

People are concerned boycotting US brands will put Canadians out of work. The current, short term proposal is to use tariff income to support affected workers. US companies have been shutting down Canadian businesses for decades. Support Canadian now to encourage new Canadian businesses/jobs.

Did you know? A ‘Made in Canada’ label only requires 51% Canadian content, while a ‘Product of Canada’ label means 98% of the content is Canadian. #TheMoreYouKnow

Now that the US doesn't want our stuff and we don't want US stuff, maybe we need to double down on becoming more self-sufficient, both as a nation and as individuals. It's an opportunity for us all to be more mindful of our consumption of goods.

I'm loving the growing movement to buy Canadian, but buying Canadian products at Walmart or Amazon or some other US conglomerate kind of defeats the purpose.

CBC News: Trudeau, Premiers Urge Shoppers to Buy Canadian as Country Prepares for a Trade War

There's only so much we, as individuals, can do to fight the encroaching madness. THIS is relatively easy. Stop buying US goods. Stop travelling to the US. ...Even Doug Ford is on board!

I urge all Canadians to find other sources and not buy US products.
Veggies/fruit -Buy Mexican, South American or other
Milk -buy Canadian only
Meat- buy Canadian only, local farms, local meat stores
Fish -buy Canadian only.
Anything else, buy European, Taiwan, etc. #BuyCanadian
