Guess where I learned my first sea shanty? Working on a tall ship. OMG. There is no experience like hauling in unison and singing a work song with a couple of dozen other people. Also you have not known fear until you've been on a tall ship in a storm, with the ocean trying to kill you.

A little tutorial on what I call "linear palettes." Getting a handle on color is one of the biggest challenges for most artists. This is a way to simplify color and create harmonies without losing control. Mostly a learning tool, but something I apply in my work too.
