Finally - its working !
Pi3B+ with a 4-channel relay & opto inputs & 32 inputs via serial from an Arduino 2560 talking MQTT
Next - get the Pi talking USB/HID with a *very* stupid Axpert solar inverter & push that data on MQTT.
The #homeassistant rabbit-hole is really really deep.....
