It’s amusing to me that Netflix has cancelled or prematurely ended really quality series and yet they insist on bleeding Stranger Things dry. An animated spinoff?! I stopped watching halfway through S05E01 because it’s even more boring than I figured it would be. Which is saying something.

I for one am enjoying this Maple Leafs season. For once we’re not getting punked. They just straight up suck. No chasing division or conference titles. No ones lighting the league on fire with goal scoring. There’s no false hope. They just straight up suck. There’s a peace to it.

I’ve completely lost interest in Stranger Things. Netflix dropped the ball so hard on this. Waaay too long between seasons. Also missed opportunity not to air in time for Halloween. No interest in watching it.

You’re right Mitch Marner. Toronto Maple Leafs took a chance on a small hometown boy to play in the biggest market in the league. And you repaid that by holding out not once but twice for as much money as you could siphon from the organization and turtled and caved in the playoffs for 9 years.

Ryan Reaves and his wobbly knees are gone from the Leafs and the fact we got anything for him is shocking. His comments about leaf fans show just how out of touch so many players are about fans and Toronto fans in particular.

I think Mitch Marner’s entire team knew he was one foot out the door for the biggest pay check before the season even ended last season. Not much of a team mate. Hard to build comradery and trust around that going into the playoffs.

The reality is Mitch Marner was never going to sign again in Toronto. He has been and always will be about the money. He wanted more money than Auston Matthews and never would have got it if he stayed.

The truly shittiest thing about another 10 seasons of Maple Leafs mediocrity and playoffs failure is our talent development pool is basically empty. We have no good draft positions and we’ve run the well dry. Expectations of this current roster to win have once again sealed the fate of the future.

Clegg says “it’s not unreasonable artists want the option to opt out”. It’s also not unreasonable for you to pay them. Which is the actual issue here isn’t it. And it’s not unworkable. It’s actually super easy. Ask specific artists if you can use their work to train AI and pay them.

At this point I’m convinced the entire Maple Leafs organization from players up to management have a big sit down meeting together each year going into the playoffs to decide on which manner they can most horribly and utterly embarrass their loyal fan base.
