A Museum of Waxwings by Dilys Wyndham Thomas reflects on the trials of preserving life and beauty as they slip away. Written for her mother with dementia the poem centers on a collection of taxidermied birds suspended before a watercolor landscape in an attempt to restore flight to long dusty wings.
