Meanwhile, my spouse this weekend (browsing food ads I think): Publix wants like $11 for Hellman’s mayo! 🤯

Yes, that’s why I mostly shop at Aldi.

I can’t get my kid to reliably pick up their stuff despite massive amounts of harping, incentives, and punishment, but they think mere exposure to an idea will cement in them for life?

Vance: She should say thank you.

If only I could use that excuse any time someone asked me a question about my job.

My elementary kid says 67 is so 2025. 🤪

I found out after the fact that one of the places I interviewed post college “screened” female applicants. If they found your look acceptable you got shown back for the scheduled interview. If not, you were sent home. I remember the head guy coming out while I was waiting. So glad I chose elsewhere.

What is “all of the above”?

It’s also hard as a consumer deciding how many to support though. At this point, I pay for 3 or 4 national subscriptions, 3 local subscriptions, and I think 3 independent paid subscriptions.

My grandparents got a single daily newspaper and my parents only picked up newspapers on odd occasions.

Blue beam is what we use at work. It works much better than Adobe for me at this point.

I don’t need AI to read the documents for me and all those “extra” features really bog it down.

I walked with my kids all over DC back in 2024 without a single issue. 🤷‍♀️

Yikes. I spend around $200ish for weekly groceries for a family of 4, including a teenaged boy with seemingly hollow legs.

The only food delivery I think I’ve done is room service on vacation, pizza delivery years ago, and a few Instacart grocery orders on vacations.

NEFL here. No flurries for me that I know of. Spouse left on a hose with a mist sprayer head overnight to ”make snow” but I guess he just made a big icy patch. I’m not going outside to check. 🤣

It’s the Free State of Florida.

Free to believe exactly as the Gov, speak only in support of the Gov, raise your children like the Gov, etc.

I’m with you.

My spouse does pb first and not a great job wiping off the knife so that there are bits of pb in the jelly. Sometimes I want just jelly on toast and random unexpected pb is 🤢

My parents were pretty conservative (not far right) and their kids are moderate to left. 🤷‍♀️

I provided all of that to vote in Florida and they still require my signature to match in order to give me a ballot. It’s always one more hoop to jump through.
January 28, 2026 at 9:41 PM
Yep. As a Floridian with kids who will soon reach college age, it sucks. It was not like this 20+ years ago when I moved here or while my spouse was growing up here.

Florida has been for a while now despite the fact that the state has been red for ages and getting redder all the time.

I visited Europe last spring. I definitely told people not to come because I was already worried for them then. Even more now.

No. He didn’t want to give it up the first time. He should never have been re-elected.

As a tail end GenXer, I was in high school when that one came out, but this thread makes me want to go back and read the later ones. I loved the history in the original 4 characters that I did read.

Same in Florida, but with hurricanes.

Hats and ear warmers are faster if you want an immediate fix that you can wear right away.

It’s looking really good!

On a local board some dude is arguing that a Brady Bunch episode means measles wasn’t bad and we don’t need vaccines…on a story about two local pediatric cases that went to the emergency room who were treated and released.

Def a vote for Clue here. My brother and I were wearing out a VHS tape close to their ages. 🤣

We also loved all the old Disney movies if you have Disney+. Blackbeards Ghost, Candleshoe, Freaky Friday, Parent Trap.
