I took today off because I deserve it, and who wants to work just on Friday after having Thursday off? I'm going to do some more sorting of papers and such from my father's stuff, so it'll be productive.

Someone actually planned a meeting for today. Like...why? Couldn't it wait until next week?
I'm really not going to be mentally present today. I'm counting down time until I get to go to a party, wear an ugly sweater, and drink and play games.

This week I feel like I'm just trying to look busy. It really sucks when someone asks me to do actual work when I'm just poking away at a couple long-term projects and not really thinking too hard. My brain shut down over the weekend, and its not restarting.

But at least I made progress on something I started yesterday to improve the lighting in our dark hallway. New LED lighting, yay!

We had a little tree come down in our yard in a storm the other day. It was a nice shape, but very lop-sided which made it off balance. Trying to think of what to put in its place. Thinking ahead 20 years is tough.

I'm entering a time of new possibilities. Need to be unafraid to explore some new things and not restrict myself. My father's passing released me from certain burdens and for the first time I don't feel pressure to adjust my life to accommodate him.

Back to work, but making all kinds of calls to tell all the appropriate official agencies that my father died. The folks taking the calls are very nice when you actually get through to them, but first you have to fight your way through the robots.

I think I'll stay in today. Maybe do a little shopping this afternoon if I feel like it. Not Christmas shopping, more mundane - like getting a new trash can for the kitchen kind of shopping. If I don't do it today, not a big deal.

things are moving forward. Chipping away at tasks, but getting a bit more of a rest today. Past couple days have been busy with lots of visitors, and that was exhausting.
