Any ideas of how a state can hold Federal Taxes since they get taken out directly by the employer and go directly to the US Treasury? Even if Newsom does it by edict, how do you ensure compliance by the myriad of type of employers — federal, state, public, private, etc.

It really is abhorrent when we don’t give our ancestors the credit they deserve. I posit they felt and experienced (lived) life more deeply — they had to… no internet, virtual reality (ha! That’s a laugh), AI bs. Imagine telling your ancestor you have an internet (bot) boyfriend/girlfriend 😂
