⚠️ The Met Office have issued an Amber warning for rain, covering most of Charnwood Forest.

⏰ The Amber warning runs from 12:00-23:59 Friday. This is in addition to the Yellow Warning from 06:00 Friday - 06:00 Saturday.

🥳 NEW FOSSIL! Researchers from Canada have named a new species of fossil from the 560 million year old rocks of Charnwood Forest!

🌟 Its called Charnia brasieri, shaped like a frond, and could grow to a metre long.

🍄 Fungi, including mushrooms, are an important part of the ecosystems in Charnwood Forest.

🚫 It is an offence to pick mushrooms within many of the Geopark's protected natural sites - including Beacon Hill, Bradgate Park, and The Outwoods.
