I'm learning to flow and relax with #Marblex. A whole new world. Incidentally while raw dogging my practice and not listening to a podcast, I had A Whole New World going thru my head most of the time, the rest of the time being Paint With All the Colours of the Wind.

Wow is Marblex different than Crayola. Way more crumbly. I'm to some degree relearning how to do this! I don't know how to get the detail. And yet, the organic material also adds more realism, somehow. The learning journey continues. Also I added some #guineapigs 🐹

I haven't been super well and didn't do much sculpting for a while, but I had a chance to move forward last night.
I feel a bit rusty & between that and the new clay, things don't feel quite the same as they have in the past, but that's ok. We'll get somewhere.

New project. New clay! #Marblex. Pretty different than Crayola, clearly better quality but definitely an adjustment in technique. More earthy, less plasticity.

I've been asked for my first commission on my sculpting! So exciting. However I'm still really uncertain about my materials. I've upgraded to a better clay (Marblex) but I have no idea how long it will last over time. So my current strategy is simply ask to ask for material and shipping covered ...
