At the heart of every attack on disability benefits is the myth disabled people “get perks”: a free car, loads of cash, a life off work. It misrepresents the reality of disability, whilst exploiting low wages and high living costs to make the public envy people in daily pain.

guess who’s part of the meta scrape! very upsetting as an anti-AI author. libgen is a useful resource and I’d honestly rather people had the info in my book than not but that’s not the same as a scrape this huge for thousands of authors

a reminder that disabled people who chose to live with their partners, as all people should have the right to do, no longer qualify for any out of work benefits. their only crumb of financial independence is PIP. women trapped in abusive relationships under these circumstances have little to no hope
