After a settlement was agreed between King John and rebel leaders, copies of the Magna Carta were issued #OTD in 1215.

We have one of the best copies of the Magna Carta. Issued in 1297 by Edward I, it confirms the City of London's ancient liberties and customs.

Today is the 80th anniversary of #VEDay. These two telegrams were received by The Lord Mayor's office, the first from Buckingham Palace, with King George VI expressing his gratitude to citizens of the City for their resilience, and the second from Field Marshal Bernard Montgomery.
