Today I heard the best violinist I've heard since Izhak Perlman: Midori. The Boston Symphony Orchestra audience gave her a long standing ovation.
The conductor was also a woman, Nodoka Okisawa, chief conductor of Kyoto Symphony Orchestra.

Slow fall this year. Usually by now the trees are crazy reds, oranges, and yellow, breathtaking. But for the last three years climate change has denied us fall beauty. Mother Nature is justifiably annoyed.
