Tadej Pogačar has found a new supporter in a former Vuelta champion, even if he made some questionable comments on his own career.

I'm stunned at the idiocy and moral posturing of some cycling fans who boast of "believing the best" in spite of evidence to the contrary...and then who stalk and hulk trying to intimidate others with their moral purity who rely on evidence and sound reasoning...

Apply that posture to Israel...yeah

One of the things I love to do most is watch professional cycling races.

One of the things that disgusts me is gaslighting and pretense.

I'm not watching today, a rider managed by ex-dopers and sportswashing for an oppressive regime.

Until he gets rid of all ties to dopers, I just cannot.

It doesn't work

laying back waiting for "someone else" to animate the race and then exploiting that...

it's the tactic of the colonizer

To all interested in my Qs and thoughts regarding protests...

I live just outside Portland Oregon, for the last 48 years, and have participated in many protests and also walked away from many riots that were carried out in the name of protests.

I saw many who were hurt "in the name of protest"

The other day a guy came up to me and said "no personal offense to you but I must beat the crap out of you right where you stand."

Taken aback I asked why.

him said it was becus he was protesting against genocide and I just happened to be the unlucky one...no offense of course.

the world changed.

Obviously I'm against the actions of any nationstate that involve human rights violations.

Can anyone explain to me how protesting a bike race will create change?

Not the "idea" of it, the actual truth of how it will effect change?

As you consider outrage posting, have a think about the potential impact on those who see the posts and are actually affected by what merely conceives outrage within yourself.

Outrage is one thing...actual harm is completely different.

@getnickwright.bsky.social Dear Nick and Team:

You're my all time fave commentator since Pat Summerall and Tom Brookshire back in the day.

I have one request:  Please please PLEASE do some weeding and stop saying "You know what I mean".

I'm actually quite serious.

trying to watch the World Athletic Championship on NBC and affiliated channels is nearly impossible.

It's 85% commercials, 12 % features, and 3% competition.

Luckily I have recorded it so I can FF thru the crap but STILL!!

I really don't have that much invested that I feel the need to endure such bullying & just block you

Creative swearing? LOVE it! It isn't the swearing, it's the attacks

To be bottom line blunt:

Asking me to believe the veracity of the very top performance in pro cycling is like asking me to believe David Copperfield does real magic.

The performances outside the math probabilities I cannot and do not believe.

It was on the table for Jonas to win 7 stages this year, possibly

The 3 he DID win
The day against Pidders
Angrilu if he wasn't sick (we KNOW he would have dropped Joao)
The day Bernal won
He was right there for 1st the day Gaudu won

His dominant performance was obscured by illness.

All things considered, he is fortunate that "it's ok", because at least this year there is nothing he could do about it.
