Philippe Sands has claimed the The Chagossians want this deal to go through. To that, we would like to ask him how he claims to know this? Has he asked them all? Philippe Sands seams to think he knows everything about Chagossian people. Yet he clearly does not have the means to.

One of our members emailed a Labour MP and told them how important it was for the Chagossians to get a referendum on this! They responded by saying they felt bad for us but because this is strategic, they don't think the Chagossians should be given one! The disrespect is unreal!

We should try getting Friends Of The British Overseas Territories and Chagossian Voices on board with the petition we support. If anyone wants to help they can email them this petition and advise them to support it.

We would like to clarify something. Our movement is apolitical, save for our goal. We will ask for support from just about anyone who agrees with it. Even if we disagree with them politically. Sometimes to do what needs to be done, requires talking with people we disagree with or even dislike.

Labour says that they have regrets about what they have done to the Chagossians in the past. This is a lie. If they had any regrets in the past, they would let the Chagossians decide their future. They only care about their base and staying out of trouble.

One of our members emailed a Labour MP to tell them that they should give them a referendum to the Chagossians. He said that he didn't think they should be given one because of national security. Clearly he doesn't think the Chagossians are I mportant enough to deserve to decide their fate.

Starmer is not planning on letting the Chagossians vote for what they want in a referendum. This shows us that he is more interested in running away from trouble than doing the right thing.

The Chagossians don't need their islands to be handed over to a country that oppresses them. It's saddening that many people think that the government's deal with Mauritius is progressive. It does not protect the Chagossian people's interests. Nor does it respect their will.

Anyone who is reading this should tell the British government to stop this deal and the American president (regardless of corruption) to veto it. Giving their home over to an oppressive country is an act of oppression.

Mauritius's history of oppressions to the Chagossians should be enough to make the government know not to just hand their home to them. The people of the Chagos Islands must be given the right to veto this deal.
