A complex subject, to say the least. Hinako has viewed them largely from an outsider's perspective, as an Easterner lacking the WoL's firsthand experience but gathering cursory knowledge given the role of "eikons" in Imperial praxis. Then having borne witness to their work (Leviathan's Drowned), the primals were crucial to her understanding the state of Eorzea and a top motivation for consulting the Riskbreakers. Something didn't add up to her about it all: the methods, the toll on the land, the tempering... Then she finally met Susano, whose very existence and circumstances made her question what constituted a primal.
