He/Him

Jack of many trades, Christopher to some.
I watch a lot of movies, I make a ton of art.
I’ve had an incredible week for movies, you guys.
Just got back from the cinema for the 25th anniversary of ‘Lord of the Rings: Fellowship of the Ring’ (2001) (Extended Edition) with my brother and it’s still just as magical.

Watched a few things this week I’d been putting off. One, Tron, for about 30 years now. And the other, the Stranger Things finale, which I was dreading.
Now I need to find time to watch Tron: Ares, postponed for similar reasons.

I don’t want to call it an annual rewatch, but it seems I find myself coming back to ‘Constantine’ (2005) fairly consistently it’s a great graphic novel movie, even if the effects largely don’t hold up. Will we ever get a sequel? Who’s to say. #movies #filmsky #Letterboxd #KeanuReeves #Constantine

More than I’ve ever done, fewer than I was aiming for. But not a bad year by any standards. #movies #filmsky #Letterboxd

Today’s movie was ‘Weapons’ (2025). To me, it almost feels like a different movie, knowing how it ends. I really got to appreciate some of the character choices, knowing their true motivations. 4.5/5 stars. Definitely recommend it to anyone who will listen. #movies #filmsky #Letterboxd #Weapons

First watch of the year, had to start off right with the 5 star banger ‘Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse’ (2018). It’s so real and fun, it’s hard to find any criticisms. I hope you’ve taken the time for this absolute masterpiece. Happy New Year! #movies #filmsky #Spiderman #MilesMorales #Marvel

A very Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays to all who observe. I had a light week this week, rewatching a few favorites and relaxing. I hope you all were able to unwind with loved ones. You deserve nice things.

I’ve many powerful, profound feelings about ‘We Live in Time’. Easily my favorite Florence Pugh OR Andrew Garfield film now, hands down. The rest of the week was filled by some faves, including an overdue rewatch of BBC’s ‘Sherlock’. Laters!

Went to my local small theater last night and thoroughly enjoyed ‘Wake Up Dead Man’. It’s been a great week for movies, with the exception of ‘Signs’ (2002), which simply doesn’t hold up like I thought it did as a kid.

Revisited some former faves this week, and tacked on ‘Together’ which was a strangely good time. All in all, a pretty good week. ‘Gladiator’ still holds up very well, even if I can never unsee the air-tank on the chariot. What’d you watch?

Leaned on ‘Knives Out’ to set the tone this week. I wanted more mystery and adventure, and that’s exactly what I got. ‘Keeper’ was stranger but fun, and I can make no excuse for ‘Dial of Destiny’. Good week though! Finished off with ‘Rear Window’!

I wanted to make a separate post for ‘Bugonia’ (2025). I largely enjoyed this film. But I wish the ending had been more ambiguous. I think it would’ve been more impactful if we never knew who was right and the result had been the same. But that might just be me.

Decent week! Revisited ‘Hook’ and ‘Bruce Almighty’, and sought out a classic in ‘Empire Records’ which I’d only ever seen snippets of. ‘Mindscape’ is actually called ‘Anna’ on Prime, and while it has a great premise, it’s very dry and predictable.

Hey! Saw Frankenstein last night. Such artistry went into every minute detail.
Gambled on Lucy, and even though it was dumb, I had a great time.
Shelby Oaks was alright? Also I revisited Nightmare Before Christmas for old times sake.

Not a big week. I revisited things I’d not touched in a while. ‘The Marvels’ is still a mess, but ‘Gone Girl’ is still a work of art.
Wish I ended on a high note. ‘Mandela Effect’ made me wish I was in a universe where I’d never bothered with it. #filmsky #movies #lastfourwatched #letterboxdfriday

Anyway, apropos of nothing, my fancast to voice a reimagining of my favorite dead puppet host is, of course, Alan Tudyk. I will not be taking questions. #alantudyk #halloween #cryptkeeper #voiceactor #talesfromthecrypt #horror #fancast

I’ve watched a few things since Good Boy, but I can’t stop thinking about Indy’s performance. He deserves the love.
Kraven the Hunter, on the other hand, is about 2 steps above Madame Web. How either got made, I’ll never know.

Started getting into spooky season this week, and watched a couple mystery/dramas to flesh things out.
Not a bad week for movies overall, but I definitely need to up my Halloween season game. Happy October, everyone!

Tried some new things this week.‘Jurassic World: Rebirth’ was just the first 3 Jurassic Park movies rolled into one, but with no love behind it. Not a big fan. But ‘Three Thousand Years of Longing’ wowed me with how much I enjoyed it. Great film.

What a week! ‘The Long Walk’ was exactly what it said on the tin. And I’m shocked it took me this long to watch ‘Prometheus’, but I’m glad I finally made the trek. ‘Demon Knight’ was certainly a movie I’ve watched.
But all of it has been entertaining.

The middest week for me. Some classics, but also a couple more recents that simply were.
‘Death of a Unicorn’ must’ve been a really fun passion project for someone, and I love that for them. And I’m always glad to see Will Poulter pop up when I wasn’t expecting him.

I wonder if Disney or Marvel realize the money they could make if they re-released the MCU movies in order again, putting out each one every few months or so. It would introduce an entire new generation to the MCU and get us hyped all over again.

Weird, all rewatches this week. But some real bangers nonetheless.
Tomorrow, I’m seeing Weapons! I’ve so far avoided all spoilers, breakdowns, and “ending explained” videos. Fingers crossed it stays that way.

This week was pretty great for me. One might even call it… fantastic.
Going to see Fantastic Four again tonight at the drive-in. Can’t wait to pick out more details I probably missed before.
