I'm embracing this network more often from now on. Better do a light intro.
I'm a Portuguese programmer working out of Brussels.
Main interests: news, EU and global affairs, tech, retro computers, cinema, pop culture, some sports and miscellaneous anecdotes. Also Portuguese profiles.
What a wonderful, beautiful film, crafted as only Guillermo del Toro is able to. I let a few tears drop at the end. And that says it all.

My culinary experiences continue with more Italian inspired cuisine. This time my sauce had an aubergine, a few cherry tomatoes, some basil leaves and, of course, extra virgin olive oil. The pasta is fettuccine.
It tasted wonderful and was silky creamy.

Damn you @nytimes.com !! Why did you add a paywall to the daily mini puzzle? I mean… it’s a f****** MINI puzzle!

Alien Earth is making me rewatch for the 100th time the original Alien and Aliens. And everything afterwards.

A final photo of my Slovenian vacation, this one on the Adriatic coast, in the village of Izola, where the sea is calm and warm.
The fish may not come anymore from the fishermen of the village. It would be unsustainable. But the recipes and the restaurants are there, with fish sourced elsewhere.

Here’s another photo in Slovenia, on my two weeks holiday in that small but beautiful country, full of amazing natural wonders.
Here you can see the Vintgar Gorge, near the famous lake Bled. An impressive walk of about 6km, following the path we chose.

Haven’t been here on Bluesky for a long time. Here’s a photo of my holidays from just a week ago. It’s in Slovenia, at lake Bohinj, inside the Triglav National Park, in the Julian Alps.
If you don’t know Slovenia and are undecided, just go. It’s a beautiful, small green country. Really worthwhile.

This one really hurts. One of my biggest and favourite artists, full of history, drama, good old 60s and LSD.
May he found his peace somewhere in the big wave constellation.

Very happy to see my country win its second UEFA Nations League against such a powerful team as our neighbors Spain.
Even happier to see this kid, Nuno Mendes, elected as Man of The Match. Well deserved!
Viva Portugal!!

I loved Neymar, decisive and amazing player. In Barcelona he was king. What a team along with Messi and Suarez. Then the decaying started. Injuries and bad decisions. At Saudi Arabia he was already a shadow of the past. Now he’s just an old idol that other players want to take a selfie with. So sad.

Looks to me, checking the stats of users count for Bsky, that this network has stagnated. In my humble opinion it needs more representation from other political sides that are not the left. I almost can’t see any. Also, like a Portuguese European living in Brussels, I miss many more local content.

Of course. It makes total sense to have a pope with sexual assault charges, amoral and a bully. Not to mention not even from the clergy. The things we hear these days seem taken from a bad dystopian novel.
Trump: "I'd like to be Pope. That would be my number one choice."

This little fella is called Tito, like the Roman emperor. When young he got used to fly through the apartment, play with us, and whistle a few tunes of 80s tv shows that I taught him.
Today I’m sad because after 16 years he decided it was time to leave this plateau of reality.
Good travels, bud.

It’s so sad that to see that in these times we need to advise people to be careful with misinformation every time there is something weird happening. The Portuguese/Spanish blackout has spread many false narratives so far. Many of them clearly just to disrupt social calmness.

Great concert by Tyler, the Creator last night at Sportpaleis in Antwerp. I’m a fan of his work since Wolf, back in 2013.
It was the beginning of his Chromakopia world tour in Europe. I hope everyone gets to see this show in the other dates with the same pleasure and satisfaction as I did.

Remembering Francis.
Shot almost 5 years ago, during an opening to travel to Italy in the summer. During the Angelus, Pope Francis prayed for the victims of the attack at the cathedral of Managua, Nicaragua, spoke about spirituality, solidarity and empathy, so badly treated nowadays. #PopeFrancis

Boosting energy, as always, Bad Bunny performed an amazing Tiny Desk Concert. The political symbolism of this man is also strong, with a well defined message. You feel it in his music. This version, with an all Puerto Rico band, an organic version of his music, is one of the best I’ve heard at NPR.
