Watching Manchán's funeral ceremony yesterday was a feast to behold. Music, dancing, wildflowers, go hálainn.

His passing has had a profound impact on so many, & rightly so. I am really griefstricken by his loss & tried reflecting on this if you'd like to read it.

Grá mór to his family & friends 🤍

Bowls of salad, fruit, pastries, freshly made soup & a giant box of bread were leftover from an event in work. The staff have already taken what they can. 3 years ago, this would have all ended up in the bin but now, I'm patiently awaiting people from #Olio to collect it all!

I delivered the 700 page business case and cost benefit analysis for MetroLink to Michael O'Leary's office yesterday.

O'Leary said on RTÉ Radio that there’s been no cost-benefit analysis done on Metrolink which was then repeated on multiple news outlets.

Thoroughly enjoyed this chat with @feljin.ie about public transport & dereliction in Ireland. We recorded this before Michael O'Leary was dissing the Metro Link too, but I know Feljin has since hand-delivered proof of the cost benefit to Ryanair's head office. You love to see it!

Little reminder that of the 101 bee species in Ireland, only ONE is a honey bee 🍯 A common misconception is keeping hives can save the bees which is like saying keeping chickens can save the birds!

Instead, provide some habitat (long grass/bare soil/dead wood) & native flowers 🐝

#WorldBeeDay
Today, over 20,000 bee species are buzzing for #WorldBeeDay 🐝

Bees & other pollinators keep 80% of crop and wild flowering plants alive.

Yet, 1 in 10 bee, hoverfly, and butterfly species are now at risk of extinction in the EU.

It was a pleasure to chat to Anna for this LSE iQ podcast. They didn't just interview AI/data centre experts but made space for an activist which I really appreciate.

Give it a listen 🌍
The latest in our "AI, technology & society" series, this month's LSE iQ podcast asks what the environmental costs of AI really are with @couldrynick.bsky.social, @eugeniedugoua.bsky.social & @cearacarney.bsky.social
Producer Anna Bevan also visits a data centre in Slough. Really worth a listen.
Is AI destroying the planet?
This episode explores the AI sustainability paradox: can AI be both a climate solution and a climate problem?
