I would be totally fine seeing college lacrosse start later in the winter/spring and the easy way to do it is for teams to play more local midweek games.
That approach worked for decades, and it could still work well today.

Ask any coach or athlete if the personal awards matter and they will say “all that matters is the team’s success”, so maybe everyone can chill out about a hall of fame snub or whatever….
Unless that “team success” line was all just bullshit, then carry on I guess.

I get it, most of the people with money & power want it this way so they can keep even more for themselves, but it does amaze me how so many just go along and support it.

I’m at the age where if I don’t drink enough water and eat enough food before playing hockey at night I will wake up the next day and feel completely hungover even though I was sober as a bird the night before. What’s the opposite of a super power?

My controversial sports take is that soccer refs should hand out WAY MORE cards for dissent, time wasting, and diving.
It’s a truly great game but clean it up and figure it out.

My plan is to watch soccer and play hockey until we inevitably nuke ourselves to death and then I’ll probably be a ghoul or a tasty meal for a manbearpig. Maybe both.

Celtic are an absolute train wreck right now. Nancy doesn’t seem to have a clue. The board has made a number of terrible decisions. And apart from a couple stand out players, most of the team simply don’t seem capable of playing at a high level. Shocking stuff.

I love the idea of regional conferences for college sports, the way (most of) D3 does it. This d1 super conference stuff is totally overrated.

A lot of modern pockets I’ve seen over the last couple years are absolute tennis racquets up top near the scoop and have overly tight channels. This is not great for a number of reasons. I thought we were past this malfeasance.

The 1st step to creating a viable/sustainable lacrosse community in a new country is…
A) starting a national team using dual passport/heritage players
Or
B) investing effort in lacrosse activity in that country and putting in selfless work for decades because that’s what it actually requires.

Sometimes I think about where the sport of lacrosse could be if people put their time & resources into the bottom part of the pyramid instead of the top - a single tear flows down my cheek. The “owners” of the game throw good money after bad & there’s no indication it’s ever really going to work.
In case anyone was wondering - no, you do not need a new helmet to attend a lacrosse combine or camp. This is pure waste, cost inflation, and marketing nonsense. Priorities in this sport are so twisted.
