The Avocet (left) is a gorgeous black and white bird with a fun, long, thin and upward curving , beak. It also has interesting coloured blue-grey legs. The yellowlegs is a mottled, black and white bird with yellow legs of course.

A young medium sized bird with a black mask. This waxwing has a bright red berry about to slide down its throat with a push from its tongue. The waxwing has a bright red berry in its beak. This shot shows off the bird's tongue which is sort of shaped like a boot jack (for pulling off your shoes). The backside of the tongue can shovel a berry down the throat.

A Brown Creeper is a small, fast moving, bird who constantly searches for bugs in tree bark. It has perfect camo with a mottled brown and white back. Notable are its curved down, thin beak and feet, large for the birds size but well suited to grabbing bark.

A wet mink takes a leap over water from one rock to another. It's rear feet are planted firmly as it pushes off into the air. Close but not quite. A mink lands on a rock but one front foot missed its mark and the mink's head hits the ground while its rear end is still going, "ass over teakettle".

As the tide goes out the Bay of Fundy leaves behind large mudflats. Here a heron flies over a large rock outcropping in the bottom of the dried up ocean. The heron has mud caked on its feet.
