Please pardon me if I'm wrong, but how is replacing health insurance subsidies with "tax credits" going to help people who don't earn enough to pay taxes, or pay for insurance up front? Why is Congress even considering this?

one thing thats kinda crazy to get your head around is not that the musk and thiel masters of the universe are ungrateful for the vast public infrastructure, public funding of research, and robust systems of laws and rules that made their wealth possible. it's that theyre too dumb to understand it

"O ye, who revel in affluence, see the afflictions of humanity and bestow your superfluity to ease them. Say not, we have suffered also, and thence withold your compassion. What are your sufferings compared to those? Ye have still more than enough left. Act wisely." – Alexander Hamilton, 6 Sept 1772

@joycewhitevance.bsky.social Would you agree with Rolling Stone's assessment?
This is the best political news I’ve seen in a very long time — so please pass it on👇

Each state can limit Citizens United in their own state & they don’t have to wait for other states to do it.

So if Congress is on permanent vacation and the courts are shut down and (presumably) on extended vacation... who can act as a check on Executive power? If tomorrow night Orangelo declares himself king, what are we gonna do, sue? The doors are locked! Congress can't write checks. We are overthrown!

Tariff feedback loop

1) set tariffs to encourage manufacturing

2) prices artificially inflated

3) local co's begin manufacturing, sell at inflated prices

4) few can afford it, recession kicks in

5) tariffs removed to stimulate economy & increase profit by using imports

6) rinse and repeat

From what I learned (also from private school) - the flip side of this is also meaningful.

The presumption of guilt and punishment enacted by the powerful does not mean one is guilty.

It means simply that one has been deemed an outsider.

And outsiders lose.
Sorry went to private school and seeing too much of this

The presumption of innocence and grace granted by enablers isn’t empathy

It’s moral self indulgence at the expense of others
