This episode is so singular in the history of television that I'm tempted to tell you to go ahead and watch it as your first Prisoner even though it's very obviously setting up the series finale. There's really nothing that gets spoiled, and you can think of it as a cold-open flash-forward.
We're getting down to cases now. Join me as I examine the first half of The Prisoner's two-part series finale, an episode that feels like experimental black-box theater and remains one of the most stylistically bold episodes of TV ever aired. Gift link!
