Verizon might be the best cell provider but they’re absolute scumbags with all of the integrity of a used car dealer when selling you on plan upgrades. Mark my words, they’re going to end up investigated for deceptive billing and upgrade practices this cycle.

Being in a Waymo ripping through a tunnel at 35 is quite an experience. I can see why they aren’t going on the freeways yet

Continuing my trend of lamenting places I used to go to in SF being gone, so much around 16th and mission / Valencia has closed :/

Woof, victory+ is certainly an experience. I guess store bugs weren’t in the budget

Penn Fed Credit Union: their great rates are only matched by the earworm getting entrenched in your head as you plow your way through the muppets at IAD.

I’ve hit the part of life where I’m excited about the new vacuum we got. Canister is the way to go!

Working in the cloud has made me soft. This took me much more effort than it used to

They got rid of the orange slushie cocktail at cars land and that makes me so sad.

I was able to shoehorn a “525,600 minutes” reference in at work so that’s the highlight of my insufferability for the day.

The little joys of being in the office like someone microwaving a tuna casserole were lost on me for a while. That’s no longer the case.

is it just me or are recent technical books from e.g. packt just horribly written? the content is whatever, the style, grammar, and usage just seem rather poor.

I’ve never missed Karens… well, ever. But watching and experiencing people cut in the hour long line at the Musée d’Orsay - that shit would not fly in the states.

I ain’t even mad that the French train website is like 100€ cheaper in French than if you display in English.

Yo, the new DTF has a convertible roof?!

What a mess.

Visiting the Bay Area is bittersweet. I love the nostalgia of memories of my 20s but seeing downtown Mountain View dead during the day is a reminder that the past is gone and the future is a new opportunity.

I’ve hit the point where I can criticize the faux directions on “The Californians”

First time at Porto’s today and… I see the hype.

With all of the unprecedented damage and uncertainty in LA right now, I see life going on. The fact that people can continue on our my lives reminds me that I’m lucky and I remain grateful for what I’ve got.

funny how all of a sudden a bunch of apartments for lease in santa monica on Craigslist show last updated of jan 10... definitely seems like scumbag landlords are using this opportunity to jack up rent

It’s really easy. Don’t pay for the cheapest bidder for your emergency alert system.

Really sad that the companies delegated in charge of public safety are half-assing critical alerting infrastructure.

The outpouring of support from the different fire departments sending support crew down here to LA is amazing. Warms my heart, and I teared up a bit when SF FD posted a video of their trucks ringing their bells on the way down.

Tech twitter these days falls into two categories of people these days in my mind:

* people peddling the equivalent of the $25 Hayley Bieber skin smoothie, or
* Erewhon people gladly consuming their overpriced snake oil because it’s popular.

Anyway that’s just, like, my reductionist take.
