Teaches WSET in Cape Town & elsewhere. Likes books, cats, funny things, cheese, not always in that order. Weary Practical Only MW student going for the final push next year. Sometimes swears & rants.
The deliciousness of little moose bollocks day courtesy of #LaMotteWine. Harvest treat made with fermenting grape must as yeast & flavoured with carraway seeds. Oh and they’re not really called ‘little moose bollocks’. Although I think they should be #mosbolletjies

Chris and the #IWC have been huge supporters of our #WSET courses here in South Africa, helping hundreds of students gain life-changing qualifications. Very best of luck Chris & keep doing your thing :)
It's all change at #InternationalWineChallenge - at least in terms of who owns it. Here Chris Ashton explains why he is so pleased to be back not only running the IWC but owning it & how he hopes to build on the "integrity" of its judging as he adapts & grows it www.the-buyer.net/awards/chris...

It took me almost 2 years but my son finally has his South African ID book. And now today he used it to apply for a learner's driving licence. I didn't think this one through at all did I?

Lovely evening last night celebrating 20 years of the Pebbles Project. Originally set up to help SA farm children affected by Foetal Alcohol Syndrome, they now run a range of programmes changing the lives of young people. Congrats to Sophy & her team of 117 staff - doing amazing work

Happy 100th birthday to Pinotage, created 100 years ago yesterday by Professor Abraham Perold. Yes, I know you all think you hate it but if you haven't tried one in the last few years then believe me, you have no idea what you're talking about. Feel free to ask for a list of mind-changing Pinotages!
