Retired elder living in America's heartland and flummoxed about the current state of affairs.
As a retiree who is watching a carefully planned financial strategy blow up in real time, I've taken to doing jigsaw puzzles with hubby. Next best thing to solving the puzzle of why elected officials and Musk are deliberately blowing up, well, everything. Latest completed endeavor.

I slept til I woke up, I've had good coffee, good breakfast and am reading a good book. My house is warm and cozy and I have no place to be except right where I am. So far it's a great year!!

Elon Musk and JD Vance's Support of Germany's Nazi-Loving AfD Party Should Be Much Bigger News
Elon Musk & J.D. Vance tweeted in support of the AfD Party whose racist, anti-immigrant ideologies are shared by a terrorist who just killed 5 people in Germany. Maybe it's not "economic anxiety."

Making orange marmalade and wondering when, exactly, we stopped teaching Upton Sinclair's The Jungle in high school. A sobering reminder of the utter disregard large corporations have for their labor force--which I suspect we are about to be reminded of in real time.

I’m curious how much federal funding he thinks the ACLU receives (it’s none).
